Cheniere Announces Public Offering of Common Stock
HOUSTON, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheniere Energy, Inc. ("Cheniere") (NYSE Amex: LNG) announced today that it has agreed to sell 33,000,000 shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering under an effective shelf registration statement. The underwriter will have a 30-day option to purchase up to an aggregate of 4,950,000 additional common shares from Cheniere to cover any over-allotments. The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including repayment of indebtedness.
