Cheniere Energy Announces Completion of Johnson Bayou Rural Health Clinic

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (AMEX:LNG) announced the completion of the Johnson Bayou Rural Health Clinic, to be operated by West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Group. The health clinic, sponsored by Cheniere, as part of its continued community outreach initiative, will be operational in early October.

"Many of the Gulf Coast residents that will benefit from the clinic previously had to travel over 40 miles to receive routine healthcare," noted Dale Jinks, Chairman of the Johnson Bayou Rural Health Clinic Board, the owner of the clinic.

Built on land donated by the Stream Family, the Clinic is strategically located in a central, easily accessible site for area residents. Johnson Bayou Rural Health Clinic is designed to provide healthcare services to people in the communities of Hackberry, Holly Beach and Johnson Bayou, Louisiana. The Clinic will offer routine medical services, such as wellness programs, immunizations, minor immediate care and preventative exams. Additionally, the site will serve as a collection and drop-off point for lab work and prescriptions. As an added benefit to the communities, the Clinic has been planned and designed to provide dental services.

"Cameron Parish is a testament to hard work, effective leadership, and teamwork at all levels. As the anniversary of Hurricane Rita approaches, the visible reminders of the storm remain, but this funding will allow Cameron Parish leaders to continue rebuilding this often overlooked part of the state that should be a model for its perseverance. Cheniere Energy is a valuable partner to Cameron's recovery, and I want to thank the company for their continued support of the people here," noted Louisiana Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr. M.D.

"Cheniere continually looks for sustainable ways to contribute to the overall well-being of the communities that it operates in and that many of its employees call home. These projects are both humanitarian and part of our corporate social responsibility. We hope that the Clinic can offer convenience and some peace of mind for our neighbors," stated Cheniere CEO, Charif Souki.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. is developing a network of three LNG receiving terminals and related natural gas pipelines along the Gulf Coast of the United States.
